While the Internet has been very good so far at helping people do things together, it is still very difficult for groups to collect money and use it transparently. As a result, we see initiatives, projects, movements popping up here and there that disappear quickly from lack of funding. Imagine how many wonderful things don’t happen in the world because funding - which is oxygen for most organizations - is difficult to sustain.

Using reason and evidence to do the most good - Effective Altruism

Effective Altruism

Effective altruism is about answering one simple question: how can we use our resources to help others the most?

Rather than just doing what feels right, we use evidence and careful analysis to find the very best causes to work on.

But it's no use answering the question unless you act on it. Effective altruism is about following through. It's about being generous with your time and your money to do the most good you can.

Network for Good

Imagine what the world would be like if every time you were inspired to help someone or something, you could -- with just a few clicks of a mouse, anywhere online. That’s the mission of Network for Good.  We make it as easy to donate and volunteer online as it is to shop online, and we make it simple and affordable for all nonprofits, of any size, to recruit donors and volunteers via the Internet. What we’ve accomplished:

Donation to Freer Gallery

My friends and i walked out of anime films at the Freer Gallery during the Cherry Blossom Festival, that i forgot to leave a donation. They asked for 5$ per movie. I thought this was fine considering the cost of movies these days. I went back to their web site and left a donation online.

Brookhaven Bulliten Articles

There's an "article" about Rich in this Brookhaven Bulliten on page 3.

Recently, he was mentioned on page 3 of this bulliten in an "article" called Donating an Organ Can Save a Life.
