Old Hickory Grille
As per Brian here is the required restaurant review...
I've gone here about 5 times now for lunch and dinner. Despite low prices, the food is quite good.

The last time i went was to celebrate Jeff's last day at Noblis. The waiter misheard my order. I wanted the Blackened Chicken with salad instead of fries, but i got the Blackened Chicken Salad. No loss.
Others that day also enjoyed their meal.
Old Hickory Grille makes for a good happy hour place, but only for small to medium sized groups.

But my meal from Kabob House was filled with spices; just hot enough. I got the Shami Kabob which is spiced ground beef. It came with a small salad. Over the spiced rice you can pick from 8 toppings. I picked spinach. Also it's served with fresh bread like nan.
Speaking of nan it looks to me like some of the menu items are Indian based. There are also gyros and vegetarian options.
Overall the service was good, the staff was friendly, the food tasted great, and the restaurant felt like Little Afgan, not that i've been there.

I picked Geppetto for pizza because it was on my way home (even though they deliver). It'a a mom and pop type of restaurant, so i was willing to pay a little more than average.
Looking inside the restaurant, i could see it has a nice atmosphere. I can't really rate their service, because i called ahead to place the order.
We selected two small pizzas, one plain and one veggie. The veggie came piled with onions, mushrooms, black olives, broccoli, green peppers, grilled eggplant, spinach and tomatos. It tasted great.
Katie, Brian, and i went to Delhi Dhaba before our visit to the Lisner Auditorium to see Ira Glass exhibit This Amerincan Life.
Overall i very much liked this restaurant. It's definitely middle class among Indian restaurants.
Both Katie and Brian liked there meals. Brian especially liked his Butter Chicken. I must agree. It was so good, i ordered the same dish at another restaurant tonight hoping it would be as good. It was good, but Delhi Dhaba was better.
I liked my Boti Kabab Masala. I had traditional lamb, green peppers, and onions, but the sauce had just the right kick to it.
We also has a variety of naan, but all naan every where is great, so i can't really say this naan was better.
Katie had a lassi (not mango) which looked great. It had flecks of something in it, like you would see in vanilla ice cream.

From the outside Mehak looks a little shabby, but inside it's very nice, and the food is great. I place my order ahead of time and it was ready when i got there. There service was courteous as they repackaged the mango lassis to prevent them from spilling.
I had their Lamb Saagwala, chucks of lamb in spinach sauce with basmati rice. Lisa had Veggie Samosa (fried turnovers stuffed with potatoes and green peas) and Aloo Parantha (whole wheat nan stuffed with potatoes, herbs, and spices). Everything was delicious.
The price is just right. We compared this restaurant to Haandi on W Broad St and found Mehak to be much cheaper. On the other hand if you wanted a classier atmosphere, Haandi is the place to go.
If you're looking for plain and fast mexican food, Burrito Brothers is the place to go. Their menu is moderately diverse. After placing your order up front, you can take your meal to go, or eat in the restaurant. The decor is plain, but nice. It's clean. Our 6 item order was filled relatively quickly.
They have a selection of hot sauces and salsa to add to your meal.
The burritos are huge and half a burrito makes a great left over. The soft taco shells won't hold, so plan to eat those with fork and knife.

My friends and i were walking down the road selecting a restaurant and agreed on California Tortilla. I liked its mom-and-pop appearance. They have burritos, fajitas, quesadillas, salads, tacos, and more. Their specialty is the Wall of Flame, shelves of hot sauses. Overall i like this place very much.
Unfortunately i picked the... wrong hot sauce. Just a few drops, ok several drop, were enough to ruin my burrito. I like hot stuff, but while eating this "Sunset" burrito, i was concerned that my tongue would never work again. I wrote off this burrito like executives write off failed projects.
When i return i will gladly ignore the Wall of Flame.

When going home i like to stop by this place to pick up some sushi. When i lived in NY i don't remember any sushi restaurants. This one popped up after i left. It's quite nice. Their menu is diverse, but when i asked for yellowtail, they didn't have it; probably a rare event. Unlike some other sushi restaurants, their non sushi menu is long.
The interior is nice, but nothing great. The waitress is nice, but hard to understand. I went on night when there wasn't much business, and service was still slow.
Despite all this, i liked this restaurant and plan to return just about every time i visit my family in Selden.

This restaurant is not like a typical pizza place. At least not like the ones in my home town of Selden, NY. There, the pizza parlors have two sections, the fast food sections and the restaurant section. Three Brothers blends the two.
The food was good and the ambiance is what you expect for a pizza place. I was really let down by them providing plastic utensils. I had the eggplant parmesan and spaghetti which was great. I like the fat speghetti. Dad had the lasagna which was ok, and Grandpa had eggplant parmesan also.
My bread and salad came out my dad and grandfather got their meals, but that's no big deal for a place like this. Luckily the bread was served warm with a variety of butters and margarins.
The table was wobly. This became annoying shortly.
The serving size was generous. I took half of mine home for dinner the next night.

Houston's has a great atmosphere. I love the whole feeling of the restaurant. It's a place where a rugged guy can dress up and still get a steak. Unfortunately, their menu is rather slim. Their entire menu fits on one large sheet of paper (11x18, one side). There are about 12 dinner dishes.
I had a steak with coucous, no veggies. It was plain.
Dad had the Evil Jungle Thai Salad, which indeed looked evil. When i had a tasted i exploded into a "whoa wow". Grandpa said that should be part of the review.
He had roast beef au jus. It was served on bread like a sandwich which extra jus on the side. Now that was a good dish.
Niwano Hana is a Japanese restaurant in northern Rockville. It's moderate in size. It has a plain decor and feels cramped. The food and service is good. I often get sushi here. I've eaten only sushi here. I've once split a 50 piece platter with Michael.
Their selection of sushi is wider than most other places around here, including the rare and unusual items, like sea urchin. Sushi dishes are often served on wooden getas. Their dragon dish -- i forget its name -- is great, as are the Dynamite Rolls.

Marc and i had dinner at Sarita's Restaurant two weeks ago. I had the campesino dish which had rice, egg and sausage, and beans. Marc had fajitas carne. I drank a Tecate beer and Marc tried the Tamarindo, a fruity drink. A little pricy, but overall a nice place.
