Paycheck

Last night i selected Paycheck for movie night. It's a science fiction story about a man who gets paid to reverse engineers products and agrees to have his memory of this process wiped.

He enters a 3 year contract for $92M. When he's done he learns that he has forfeited all the money. He's left with an envelope of clues.

There's much more to the story, but i don't want to spoil it. Suffice it to say, i enjoyed it very much. It's the reverse side of a Butterfly Effect coin.

Nonprediction

SPOILER: The machine must have predicted his own death, right? I find it interesting how he did in fact remember that he was going to be shot. And as a result, he was able to dodge the bullet and survive. Wouldn't the machine have also predicted that he would remember this?
Ah it did, due to the last clue. What was the hole in the story i mentioned last night? Ah that the dystopia it predicted never actually happened.
